unrequited love

You think of someone because they are someone that you used to know and are still fond of. Or simply the person you can no longer have but once had. What about the one you know of and can not put any reality to why you are fond of them other than what you think you know of them. The one you know is out there, but not with you and it seems impossible to be with that “one.” The only logic is that you feel it, feel for this person and traditional logic is out the window. Romeo and Juliet was a great play, but the reality is a sad lie when it comes to love and other tales.

Charlie Brown said there was nothing like unrequited love to drain all the flavor out of a peanut butter sandwich. What I think he meant was there is nothing well the grown-up chuck would say there is nothing like not knowing the taste of someone. He knew the little redhead girl was real and out there and close to touch, but it was not happening, not that it was not meant to be.

I really believe when a love affair has gone all wrong, it’s just a collection of bad poems explaining why it should not have happened. Or one long poem like the Odysess by Homer where not only is it meant to be, but being in love is a Hero’s or Heroine’s journey trying to get to the one you love. In a sense being in love with the one you were destined to be is like being “Home.”

Ps. Chuck got the little redhead girl in the end well a kiss, and the point is that he finally mustered up the courage to go up to her.
